After extensive renovations, the homeowner wanted to completely over haul the existing landscape. Considerations
included, but were not limited to, incorporating a sitting area around a fire bowl, creating a small area to grow
veggies, a contemporary feel but with informal plantings, reducing maintenance by eliminating the lawn, and making
the entrance more inviting.
To accomplish this, we created a garden room for the fire bowl sitting area by separating it from the veggie raised bed with a cedar screen which matched the deck railings, and an arbour on which the client can grow climbing roses. The paving materials, front and back, have a clean contemporary look. The front path is wide and indirect so guests can be directed through the informal, English style, plantings. The front steps were clad in Bluestone to finish off the guests journey to the front door.
