We had a blank slate on this one, as the house had recently underwent extensive renovations, leaving the front yard bare and compact, but full of potential..
The existing mature conifers suggested a natural design and shade tolerant plantings, which would also help set off the contemporary architecture.
A dry stream bed and rustic stone patio was chosen to replace an area which previously held a parking pad. Boulders were brought in to lend permanence to the design as well as retain a bank above a stone walkway.
