Our main goal here was to create a more inviting and safe entrance to the front door using natural stone and incorporating steps.
Another goal was to choose tough and beautiful plants to live under the large cedars.
We installed random Bluestone flagstone with black basalt steps, laid on a gravel base. The grade under the cedars was raised and retained with dry-stack basalt wall stone and existing boulders. This allowed us to add a lot of new topsoil so the new plantings could get established before the cedar roots took over.
