South Surrey 1 - Designed Installation
These clients took the opportunity to re-landscape their front yard after re-doing their perimeter house drainage. They wanted us to eliminate their lawn and create a low water use landscape (xeriscape).
In addition to choosing drought tolerant plantings, I saw the opportunity to change the access to their front door and create some more curb appeal. We used some of the excavations from their drainage work to create large mounds on both sides of their new and very wide path to the front door. The look of this path was lightened by designing large offset concrete steps with river rock in between. We used boulders and more river rock to create a dry river bed look, and then high- lighted it all with low voltage landscape lighting.
